Description

A nostalgic Robert Redford Dessert featuring a buttery walnut crust, creamy cheesecake layer, silky chocolate and vanilla pudding, and fluffy whipped topping. This chilled layered dessert is rich, smooth, and perfect for make-ahead gatherings and celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 package (5.1 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 package (5.1 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (topping layer)
  • 1/8 cup grated semisweet chocolate

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Mix flour, butter, and walnuts until crumbly, then press into the baking dish.
  3. Bake for 20–25 minutes until lightly golden, then cool completely.
  4. Beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth, then fold in one container of whipped topping.
  5. Spread cream cheese layer over cooled crust.
  6. Whisk chocolate pudding mix, vanilla pudding mix, and milk until thickened, then spread over cream layer.
  7. Top with remaining whipped topping and smooth evenly.
  8. Sprinkle grated chocolate over the top.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure crust is fully cooled before layering to prevent melting.
  • Chilling overnight improves texture and slicing.
  • Pecans can replace walnuts if desired.
  • Use only chocolate pudding for a richer flavor variation.
  • Keep refrigerated until serving.
