Ingredients

- 4 tablespoons butter
- 10 ounces miniature marshmallows
- 6 cups crispy rice cereal
- 1 box (3 ounces) cherry-flavored gelatin
- For the topping:
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Optional:
- 1/2 cup dried cherries, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Grease or line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
- Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
- Stir in cherry gelatin powder until evenly combined.
- Add vanilla extract and salt if using.
- Remove from heat and fold in crispy rice cereal and dried cherries if using.
- Press mixture evenly into prepared pan without packing too tightly.
- Melt chocolate chips and butter together until smooth.
- Spread melted chocolate evenly over the cereal layer.
- Refrigerate until the chocolate is firm.
- Cut into bars and serve.
