Description

A no-bake dessert featuring chewy cherry-flavored crispy cereal bars topped with a smooth chocolate layer, perfect for quick treats and gatherings.


Ingredients

  • For the base:
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 10 ounces miniature marshmallows
  • 6 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 1 box (3 ounces) cherry-flavored gelatin
  • For the topping:
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Optional:
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Grease or line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
  3. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  4. Stir in cherry gelatin powder until evenly combined.
  5. Add vanilla extract and salt if using.
  6. Remove from heat and fold in crispy rice cereal and dried cherries if using.
  7. Press mixture evenly into prepared pan without packing too tightly.
  8. Melt chocolate chips and butter together until smooth.
  9. Spread melted chocolate evenly over the cereal layer.
  10. Refrigerate until the chocolate is firm.
  11. Cut into bars and serve.
