Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, whisk milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Pipe batter into donut pan, filling each cavity 3/4 full.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden and cooked through.
  7. Cool slightly, then remove from pan and place on a rack.
  8. Brush warm donuts with melted butter.
  9. Mix sugar and cinnamon, then roll donuts in the mixture until coated.
  10. Serve warm.
