Description

Whipped coffee, also known as Dalgona coffee, is a creamy and frothy café-style drink made by whipping instant coffee, sugar, and hot water into a thick foam, then serving it over milk. This quick and easy recipe creates a rich coffee flavor with a smooth, fluffy texture that can be enjoyed hot or iced.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee granules
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons very hot water
  • 1 cup milk, cold or warm
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes (optional for iced coffee)
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add the instant coffee, sugar, and hot water to a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Using a hand mixer, beat the mixture on medium-high speed for 2 to 4 minutes until thick, glossy, light, and fluffy.
  3. Scrape the sides of the bowl once or twice during mixing so everything whips evenly.
  4. Fill a serving glass with ice cubes if making iced coffee.
  5. Pour the milk into the glass.
  6. Spoon the whipped coffee mixture over the milk.
  7. Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired and serve immediately.
  8. Stir thoroughly before drinking so the coffee foam blends smoothly into the milk.

Notes

  • Instant coffee is required for the foam to whip properly.
  • Reduce the sugar slightly for a less sweet drink, though the foam may become less stable.
  • Oat milk, almond milk, soy milk, or dairy milk all work well.
  • Serve immediately for the fluffiest texture.
