Description
A fresh and flavorful vegan garlic bread topped with juicy tomatoes, aromatic basil, and olive oil on crispy toasted bread.
Ingredients
- 1 large baguette or crusty loaf (about 300 g)
- 3 medium ripe tomatoes, finely diced
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C and line a baking sheet.
- Slice baguette into even pieces and arrange on the sheet.
- Mix 2 tablespoons olive oil with garlic and brush onto bread slices.
- Toast in oven for 8–10 minutes until golden and crisp.
- In a bowl, combine tomatoes, basil, remaining olive oil, salt, pepper, oregano, and optional balsamic vinegar.
- Remove bread from oven and let cool slightly.
- Spoon tomato mixture onto each slice.
- Serve immediately while warm and crisp.
