Description

A fresh and flavorful vegan garlic bread topped with juicy tomatoes, aromatic basil, and olive oil on crispy toasted bread.


Ingredients

  • 1 large baguette or crusty loaf (about 300 g)
  • 3 medium ripe tomatoes, finely diced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C and line a baking sheet.
  2. Slice baguette into even pieces and arrange on the sheet.
  3. Mix 2 tablespoons olive oil with garlic and brush onto bread slices.
  4. Toast in oven for 8–10 minutes until golden and crisp.
  5. In a bowl, combine tomatoes, basil, remaining olive oil, salt, pepper, oregano, and optional balsamic vinegar.
  6. Remove bread from oven and let cool slightly.
  7. Spoon tomato mixture onto each slice.
  8. Serve immediately while warm and crisp.
