Description

Ingredients

  • 4 slices thick brioche or challah bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • 120 ml milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for cooking)
  • 120 g cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for filling)
  • Optional: fresh berries, maple syrup, powdered sugar, honey

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Spread filling on two slices of bread and top with remaining slices to form sandwiches.
  3. Whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
  4. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Dip sandwiches into egg mixture, coating both sides without oversoaking.
  6. Cook for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp.
  7. Remove from pan and let rest briefly.
  8. Slice diagonally and serve with desired toppings.
