Description
Flaky strawberry cheesecake turnovers filled with creamy vanilla cheesecake and sweet strawberry filling, baked to golden perfection and finished with a light glaze.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 120 g cream cheese, softened
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 1–2 teaspoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, cook strawberries with cornstarch and water until thickened. Cool completely.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Roll out puff pastry and cut into 4–6 squares.
- Place cream cheese mixture in the center of each square and top with strawberry filling.
- Fold pastry into triangles and seal edges with a fork.
- Whisk egg and milk, then brush over turnovers.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk to make glaze.
- Drizzle glaze over warm turnovers and serve.
Notes
- Cool strawberry filling before assembling to prevent soggy pastry.
- Seal edges היט היט to avoid leaks.
- Do not overfill turnovers.
- Best served warm for flaky texture.
- Use fresh or well-drained frozen strawberries.
