Description

Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast is a rich and indulgent breakfast dish featuring thick brioche sandwiches filled with creamy strawberry cheesecake mixture, dipped in custard, and pan-fried until golden and crispy. It combines the flavors of dessert and breakfast in one comforting treat.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices thick brioche or challah bread
  • 200 g cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for cooking)
  • Powdered sugar (for serving)
  • Maple syrup (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Fold in diced strawberries to create the filling.
  3. Spread filling onto 4 slices of bread and top with remaining slices to form sandwiches.
  4. Whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon in a shallow dish.
  5. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides.
  7. Cook sandwiches for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  8. Remove from pan and let rest briefly.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup.

Notes

  • Brioche or challah works best for a soft and rich texture.
  • Do not oversoak bread to prevent sogginess.
  • Frozen strawberries should be thawed and drained before use.
  • Can be baked instead of fried at 180°C for 20 minutes.
  • Best served fresh and warm.
