Description

Soft and fluffy pineapple rolls with a rich sticky brown sugar topping, offering a tropical twist on classic cinnamon rolls.


Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 to 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple, well drained
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (for topping)
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (for topping)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup pineapple chunks or crushed pineapple
  • 4 oz cream cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (optional)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar and let sit until foamy.
  2. Add butter, egg, salt, and flour to form a soft dough and knead until smooth.
  3. Cover and let dough rise for 1 hour until doubled.
  4. Prepare topping by melting butter, brown sugar, and cream, then spread in a baking dish and add pineapple.
  5. Mix filling ingredients until combined.
  6. Roll dough into a rectangle and spread filling evenly.
  7. Roll into a log, slice into rolls, and place in baking dish.
  8. Let rise for 30 minutes.
  9. Bake at 175°C (350°F) for 30–35 minutes until golden.
  10. Invert onto a serving dish and optionally drizzle with cream cheese topping.

Notes

  • Drain pineapple היטghtly to avoid soggy rolls.
  • Do not skip rising times for best texture.
