Description
Soft and fluffy pineapple rolls with a rich sticky brown sugar topping, offering a tropical twist on classic cinnamon rolls.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 to 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup crushed pineapple, well drained
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (for topping)
- 3/4 cup brown sugar (for topping)
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup pineapple chunks or crushed pineapple
- 4 oz cream cheese (optional)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (optional)
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- Mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar and let sit until foamy.
- Add butter, egg, salt, and flour to form a soft dough and knead until smooth.
- Cover and let dough rise for 1 hour until doubled.
- Prepare topping by melting butter, brown sugar, and cream, then spread in a baking dish and add pineapple.
- Mix filling ingredients until combined.
- Roll dough into a rectangle and spread filling evenly.
- Roll into a log, slice into rolls, and place in baking dish.
- Let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 175°C (350°F) for 30–35 minutes until golden.
- Invert onto a serving dish and optionally drizzle with cream cheese topping.
Notes
- Drain pineapple היטghtly to avoid soggy rolls.
- Do not skip rising times for best texture.
- Invert while warm for best sticky topping.
