Ingredients
- 1 medium green cabbage (about 1.2 kg), chopped into bite-sized pieces
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 4 slices smoked beef strips, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the cabbage by chopping it into medium bite-sized pieces and slice the onion thinly.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the smoked beef strips until slightly crisp. Remove and set aside.
- Add olive oil to the same skillet and sauté the onions for 3–4 minutes until soft and translucent.
- Add the chopped cabbage and stir well to combine with the onions.
- Cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender but still slightly firm.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Add apple cider vinegar if using, and mix well.
- Return the smoked beef strips to the pan and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Serve warm as a side dish or light meal.
