Description

Soft and fluffy homemade ring doughnuts fried to golden perfection and coated with a rich, glossy chocolate glaze.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (315 g)
  • 1/4 cup sugar (50 g)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast (7 g)
  • 3/4 cup warm milk (180 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted (30 g)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (120 g)
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder (25 g)
  • 34 tablespoons milk (4560 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add warm milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla, and mix into a soft dough.
  3. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
  5. Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut into rings.
  6. Let shaped doughnuts rise for 30 minutes.
  7. Heat oil to 170–180°C and fry doughnuts 1–2 minutes per side until golden.
  8. Drain on paper towels and cool slightly.
  9. Mix powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, melted butter, and vanilla to make glaze.
  10. Dip doughnuts in glaze and let set before serving.
