Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small head green cabbage, shredded
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup beef broth (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add onion and garlic and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
- Add shredded cabbage and stir to combine.
- Season with paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Add beef broth if using and stir well.
- Cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Remove from heat and serve warm.
Notes
- Do not over-stir so the cabbage can lightly caramelize for better flavor.
- Ground turkey or chicken can be used instead of beef.
- Add chili flakes for a spicy version.
- Cheese can be added on top for extra richness.
