Description

This Jelly Jar Pineapple Marinade is a quick and flavorful marinade made with pineapple jam, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, ginger, and fresh jalapeños. It delivers the perfect balance of sweet, savory, tangy, and mildly spicy flavors, making it ideal for chicken, seafood, tofu, or grilled vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup pineapple jam or pineapple preserves
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 fresh jalapeños, seeded and diced
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice (optional)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Remove enough pineapple jam from the jar until about 1/2 cup remains inside.
  2. Add the soy sauce directly into the jar with the pineapple jam.
  3. Stir in the Dijon mustard, rice vinegar, and ground ginger.
  4. Add the diced jalapeños and any optional ingredients if desired.
  5. Secure the lid tightly and shake vigorously until the marinade is smooth and fully combined.
  6. Pour the marinade into a bowl or resealable bag with your preferred protein or vegetables.
  7. Marinate chicken for at least 1 hour, seafood for 20 to 30 minutes, or vegetables for 30 minutes.
  8. Grill, bake, or pan-sear as desired. Brush extra marinade over food while cooking for additional flavor.

Notes

  • Store the marinade in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Shake well before using because separation may occur naturally.
  • Do not reuse marinade that has touched raw meat unless fully cooked first.
  • For a sweeter flavor, add extra pineapple jam or honey.
  • Add chili flakes or keep jalapeño seeds for more heat.
  • Fresh orange juice or lime zest adds a tropical citrus flavor.
  • Sesame oil and sesame seeds create an Asian-inspired variation.
  • Mango preserves can be substituted for pineapple jam.
