Ingredients
- 12 ounces bow tie pasta
- 1 lb halal Italian-style sausage (beef or chicken)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Cook bow tie pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook sausage, breaking it into pieces, until browned.
- Add diced onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add bell pepper and cook for 3–5 minutes until slightly tender.
- Pour in diced tomatoes and tomato sauce, stirring well.
- Add oregano, basil, paprika, salt, pepper, and chili flakes. Simmer for 8–10 minutes.
- Add cooked pasta and toss to coat evenly.
- Stir in parmesan cheese until melted.
- Garnish with parsley and serve.
