Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 120 g granulated sugar
- 120 g all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar or vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- Powdered sugar, sliced almonds, or fruit jam (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C and grease and line a baking pan.
- Beat eggs and sugar until pale, thick, and fluffy.
- Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla, mixing lightly.
- Combine flour and baking powder, then fold gently into the batter.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool slightly, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
- Slice and serve plain or with desired toppings.
