Ingredients
- 1 large baguette or Italian loaf, sliced
- 2–3 ripe tomatoes, sliced
- 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese (shredded or sliced)
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- 2–3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Arrange bread slices on a baking sheet in a single layer.
- Drizzle olive oil over each slice.
- Spread minced garlic evenly on each piece.
- Top with tomato slices.
- Add mozzarella cheese over tomatoes.
- Season with salt and black pepper.
- Bake for 10–15 minutes until bread is crisp and cheese is melted.
- Remove from oven and top with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
- Fresh basil gives the best flavor, but dried can be used.
- Use firm tomatoes to prevent soggy bread.
- Avoid microwaving when reheating to keep crispness.
- Add parmesan or chili flakes for extra flavor.
