Description

Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, this homemade garlic bread is packed with buttery garlic flavor and optional melted cheese for a delicious side dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread (about 40 cm long)
  • 100 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 50 g grated mozzarella cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C and line a baking sheet.
  2. Slice the bread in half lengthwise and place cut-side up.
  3. Mix butter, garlic, parsley, olive oil, salt, pepper, and oregano until smooth.
  4. Spread the garlic butter evenly over the bread.
  5. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top if using.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden.
  7. Optional: broil for 2–3 minutes for a crispier top.
  8. Remove, slice, and serve warm.
