Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar or coconut sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons melted butter or coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (optional glaze)
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a donut pan.
- In a bowl, mix all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, whisk milk, yogurt, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.
- Transfer batter to a piping bag and fill donut molds about 3/4 full.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until lightly golden and cooked through.
- Cool in pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
- Optional: Mix glaze ingredients and dip cooled donuts to coat.
