Description

A flavorful and zesty roasted tofu dish with garlic, lemon, and herbs, offering a light, crispy, and satisfying plant-based meal.


Ingredients

  • 400 g firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Press tofu for at least 15 minutes, then cut into cubes.
  3. In a bowl, whisk olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, soy sauce, maple syrup, salt, pepper, paprika, and oregano.
  4. Add tofu cubes and gently toss to coat evenly.
  5. Let tofu marinate for about 10 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle cornstarch over tofu and toss lightly.
  7. Arrange tofu in a single layer on baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and slightly crispy.
  9. Cool slightly and serve with optional garnish.
