Description
Four Cheese Grilled Cheese Sandwich is a rich and comforting toasted sandwich made with gruyere, gouda, cheddar, and goat cheese, delivering a perfectly crispy exterior and a gooey, flavorful melted cheese center.
Ingredients
- 4 slices thick-cut bread
- 2 tablespoons salted butter, softened
- 1 cup grated gruyere cheese
- 4 tablespoons crumbled goat cheese
- 1/2 cup grated gouda cheese
- 4–6 slices medium cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.
- Place two slices of bread on a flat surface, buttered side down.
- Layer gruyere, goat cheese, gouda, and cheddar evenly on both slices.
- Top with remaining bread slices, buttered side facing up.
- Heat a skillet over medium-low heat.
- Cook sandwiches for 4–5 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip carefully and cook another 4–5 minutes until cheese is fully melted.
- Remove from heat, rest briefly, then slice and serve warm.
Notes
- Use low heat to ensure cheese melts without burning bread.
- Sourdough or country bread works best for structure and flavor.
- Pre-shredded cheese may not melt as smoothly as freshly grated cheese.
- Add tomatoes or caramelized onions for extra flavor.
- Serve immediately for best texture.
