Description

A warm and nourishing oatmeal made with naturally sweet dates, creamy oats, and a hint of cinnamon for a wholesome and satisfying breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups milk (or water, or a mix)
  • 1/2 cup pitted dates, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil (optional)
  • Fresh fruit, nuts, or seeds for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Soak chopped dates in warm water for 5–10 minutes to soften.
  2. In a saucepan, heat milk and salt over medium heat until simmering.
  3. Add oats and reduce heat to low.
  4. Drain dates and add them along with cinnamon.
  5. Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally until desired consistency.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  7. Add honey or maple syrup if extra sweetness is desired.
  8. Serve warm with toppings of choice.

Notes

  • Soaking dates improves texture and sweetness.
  • Adjust liquid for thicker or creamier consistency.
  • Add nuts or seeds for extra texture and nutrition.
  • Use plant-based milk for a dairy-free option.
