Description

Crostini is a classic Italian appetizer made from crisp toasted baguette slices topped with creamy ricotta, sautéed mushrooms, and fresh tomato bruschetta. It is light, flavorful, and perfect for parties, gatherings, or elegant snacking.

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, sliced
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, halved
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup sautéed mushrooms
  • 1 cup tomato bruschetta mixture
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil or parsley, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet.
  2. Brush slices with olive oil and bake until golden and crisp.
  3. Rub warm toast lightly with garlic for flavor.
  4. Prepare tomato mixture by combining tomatoes, olive oil, basil, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  5. Spread ricotta on toasted bread slices.
  6. Top some slices with sautéed mushrooms and others with tomato mixture.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Toast bread well to prevent sogginess.
  • Assemble just before serving for best texture.
  • Ricotta can be replaced with goat cheese or cream cheese.
  • Add balsamic glaze for extra flavor.
  • Tomato mixture tastes best after resting a few minutes.
