Description
Crispy honey garlic chicken made with tender fried chicken pieces coated in a crunchy crust and tossed in a sweet, savory, and garlicky glaze.
Ingredients
- For the chicken:
- 500 g boneless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Oil for frying
- For the sauce:
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Optional:
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Season chicken with salt and pepper.
- Dip each piece into beaten eggs, then coat in cornstarch.
- Heat oil and fry chicken in batches for 4–5 minutes until golden and cooked through.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a pan, combine honey, soy sauce, ketchup, and garlic. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Toss fried chicken in the sauce until evenly coated.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds and serve immediately.
