Ingredients
- 500 g calamari rings (1–1.5 cm thick)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- Oil for deep frying (sunflower or canola)
- Lemon wedges for serving
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse calamari under cold water and pat completely dry.
- In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and optional spices.
- Heat oil to 180°C (350–365°F) in a deep pan.
- Toss calamari in the flour mixture and shake off excess.
- Fry in small batches for 1.5–2 minutes until golden.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges and garnish if desired.

- Do not overcrowd the pan while frying.
