Buttery, cheesy biscuits stuffed with a creamy, savory crab filling, baked until golden and brushed with garlic herb butter.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 cup cooked crab meat, shredded
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (for filling)
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (for topping)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (for topping)
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, garlic powder, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly.
- Stir in cheddar cheese, then add milk and mix into a soft dough.
- In another bowl, combine crab meat, cream cheese, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, paprika, parsley, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Flatten a portion of dough, add crab filling, top with more dough, and seal edges to form a biscuit.
- Place on baking sheet and repeat with remaining dough.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix melted butter with garlic powder and parsley, then brush over hot biscuits.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- Seal edges היטghtly to prevent filling from leaking.
- Use cold butter for best flaky texture.
- Do not overmix dough to keep biscuits tender.
- Fresh crab provides best flavor, but canned works if drained well.
- Avoid microwaving when reheating to maintain texture.
