Description
These homemade chocolate truffles are rich, creamy, and easy to make with crushed chocolate cookies, cream cheese or condensed milk, and delicious coatings. Perfect for parties, holidays, or a quick no-bake dessert.
Ingredients
- 2 cups crushed chocolate cookies
- 1 cup cream cheese or condensed milk
- 200 g melted dark chocolate
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 1/4 cup chocolate sprinkles
- Extra melted chocolate for drizzling (optional)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder (optional)
- A pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions
- Place the chocolate cookies in a food processor and pulse until they become fine crumbs. Alternatively, crush them in a sealed bag using a rolling pin.
- Transfer the crumbs to a mixing bowl and add the cream cheese or condensed milk. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- If the mixture is too dry, add a little more cream cheese or condensed milk. If too sticky, add extra cookie crumbs.
- Scoop small portions of the dough and roll them into evenly shaped balls.
- Place the truffles on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
- Melt the dark chocolate in short microwave intervals or using a double boiler until smooth.
- Dip some truffles into the melted chocolate and let the excess drip off.
- Roll the remaining truffles in shredded coconut, chopped nuts, or chocolate sprinkles.
- Drizzle extra melted chocolate over the truffles if desired.
- Refrigerate for another 15 to 20 minutes before serving chilled.
Notes
- Use milk chocolate for a sweeter flavor.
- Add coffee powder for mocha-flavored truffles.
- Keep truffles chilled for the best texture.
- Freeze in an airtight container for up to 2 months.
- Decorate with festive sprinkles for celebrations.
- Vanilla, almond, peppermint, or orange extracts can enhance flavor.
