Description

A sweet and salty treat made with buttery crackers, rich homemade caramel, and crunchy peanuts, optionally topped with melted chocolate for an irresistible snack.


Ingredients

  • 2 sleeves Ritz crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups salted peanuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange crackers in a single layer covering the tray.
  3. Melt butter in a saucepan, add brown sugar, and stir until combined.
  4. Bring mixture to a boil and cook for 3–4 minutes until thick and bubbly.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract if using.
  6. Pour caramel over crackers and spread evenly.
  7. Sprinkle peanuts evenly over the top.
  8. Bake for 8–10 minutes until caramel is bubbling.
  9. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top if desired, then spread once melted.
  10. Cool completely for about 1 hour, then break into pieces.
