Ingredients
- 1 cup butter (227 g, softened)
- 1/2 cup icing sugar (60 g)
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (220 g)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 160°C and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Beat butter and icing sugar until light, fluffy, and pale.
- Add vanilla extract and mix well.
- Gradually add flour and mix gently until combined.
- Add milk and mix until dough is soft and pipeable.
- Transfer dough to a piping bag with a star nozzle.
- Pipe swirl shapes onto the prepared tray.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool completely before transferring to a rack.
Notes
- Butter should be soft but not melted.
- Do not overmix to keep cookies tender.
- If dough is too stiff, add a little more milk.
- Bake at low temperature for delicate texture.
