Description

A rich and chocolatey baked oat dish with a soft, brownie-like texture, perfect for a nourishing breakfast or dessert. This easy recipe is naturally gluten-free and egg-free.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats (gluten-free if needed)
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon nut butter (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons dark chocolate chips
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and lightly grease a small baking dish or ramekin.
  2. In a blender, combine oats, milk, mashed banana, cocoa powder, maple syrup, baking powder, vanilla extract, nut butter, and salt. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  5. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the top is set and a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving and enjoy warm.

Notes

  • Use applesauce instead of banana for a milder flavor.
  • Add protein powder and a bit more milk for extra protein.
  • Mix in chopped nuts or berries for added texture.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat with a splash of milk to maintain moisture.
  • Can be made vegan by using plant-based milk and maple syrup.
