Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups peeled and diced apples
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (for glaze)

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

  9. Bake for 50–60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool in pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.

  12. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, and pour over cooled cake.

Notes

  • Grease bundt pan well to prevent sticking.
  • Do not overmix batter to keep cake tender.
  • Use firm apples for best texture.
  • Glaze should be poured while slightly warm.
