Description
Biftekia Gemista are Greek-style stuffed beef patties filled with creamy feta cheese, offering a juicy, flavorful dish with a rich Mediterranean touch.
Ingredients
- 400 g ground beef
- 100 g feta cheese
- 50 g breadcrumbs
- 1 onion, grated
- 1 egg
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon parsley, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Place ground beef in a bowl and add breadcrumbs, onion, egg, garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Divide mixture into 4–6 portions and flatten each into a disc.
- Cut feta into cubes and place one in the center of each disc.
- Fold and seal the meat around the cheese, shaping into patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook patties for 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked.
- Let rest briefly before serving.
Notes
- Seal patties היטב to prevent cheese leakage.
- Do not overcrowd the pan for even cooking.
- Use firm feta for better stuffing.
- Adjust herbs for personal taste.
