Description

Biftekia Gemista are Greek-style stuffed beef patties filled with creamy feta cheese, offering a juicy, flavorful dish with a rich Mediterranean touch.


Ingredients

  • 400 g ground beef
  • 100 g feta cheese
  • 50 g breadcrumbs
  • 1 onion, grated
  • 1 egg
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Place ground beef in a bowl and add breadcrumbs, onion, egg, garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Divide mixture into 4–6 portions and flatten each into a disc.
  3. Cut feta into cubes and place one in the center of each disc.
  4. Fold and seal the meat around the cheese, shaping into patties.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Cook patties for 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked.
  7. Let rest briefly before serving.

  • Seal patties היטב to prevent cheese leakage.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan for even cooking.
  • Use firm feta for better stuffing.
