A creamy and comforting layered dessert made with vanilla pudding, fresh bananas, soft cake, and fluffy whipped cream.
Ingredients
- Cold milk 2 cups
- Instant vanilla pudding mix 1 package (3.4 oz)
- Heavy whipping cream 2 cups
- Powdered sugar 3 tablespoons
- Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
- Ripe bananas 4 sliced
- Sponge cake or pound cake 4 cups cubed
- Vanilla wafers or biscuits 200 g
Instructions
- Prepare pudding with cold milk according to package instructions and refrigerate for 5 minutes.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
- Fold half of the whipped cream into the pudding until smooth.
- Layer cake cubes in a trifle dish, followed by bananas, pudding mixture, and wafers.
- Repeat layers until ingredients are used, finishing with whipped cream on top.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- Toss bananas in a little lemon juice to reduce browning.
- Can substitute chocolate pudding for variation.
- Best served chilled.
- Store covered in refrigerator up to 2 days.
