Description

Juicy and flavorful chicken burgers made with white cheddar, fresh spinach, and a blend of simple seasonings. A lighter twist on classic burgers that’s quick to make and perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
  • 1 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/3 cup yellow onion, finely minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar, minced onion, and garlic.
  2. Add the egg, breadcrumbs, olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  3. Gently mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape into 3/4-inch thick patties.
  5. Heat a nonstick skillet or grill pan over medium heat and lightly oil the surface.
  6. Cook the patties for 5–6 minutes per side, or until golden and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use frozen spinach if needed—just thaw and squeeze out excess moisture.
  • Try different cheeses like mozzarella or pepper jack for variety.
  • Add mushrooms or yogurt for extra moisture and flavor.
  • Can be baked at 400°F (200°C) for 18–20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
