Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
- 1 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/3 cup yellow onion, finely minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar, minced onion, and garlic.
- Add the egg, breadcrumbs, olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder.
- Gently mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape into 3/4-inch thick patties.
- Heat a nonstick skillet or grill pan over medium heat and lightly oil the surface.
- Cook the patties for 5–6 minutes per side, or until golden and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use frozen spinach if needed—just thaw and squeeze out excess moisture.
- Try different cheeses like mozzarella or pepper jack for variety.
- Add mushrooms or yogurt for extra moisture and flavor.
- Can be baked at 400°F (200°C) for 18–20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
