Description
These Ultimate Fudgy Chocolate Brownies are rich, gooey, and decadent, with a crisp top and moist, fudgy center. They come together in one bowl and under 10 minutes of prep time.
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 1/4 cups white sugar
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
4 large eggs, at room temperature
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (good quality)
7 oz large chocolate chips or roughly chopped chocolate
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Lightly grease an 8×12-inch baking pan with cooking oil spray and line it with parchment paper. Set aside.
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine the melted butter, vegetable oil, and both sugars. Whisk well to combine.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, then beat until the mixture becomes lighter in color, about 1 minute.
- Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Avoid over-beating the batter to maintain the fudgy texture.
- Fold in three-quarters of the chocolate chips or chopped chocolate.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Top with the remaining chocolate pieces.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes for fudgy brownies or 35-40 minutes for well-set brownies. The center should no longer jiggle, and a toothpick inserted into the center should come out with a few moist crumbs for fudgy brownies.
- Let the brownies cool for 15-20 minutes before removing them from the pan. Allow them to cool to room temperature before slicing into 16 pieces.
Notes
- Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate them for up to 5 days.
- Freeze brownies for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge and bring to room temperature or reheat in the microwave.
- For extra chocolate, consider adding more chocolate chips or peanut butter chips.
- If using a different sized pan, adjust the baking time accordingly.
