Description

Juicy and tender chicken marinated in a creamy yogurt and turmeric blend, infused with warm spices and aromatic garlic. This flavorful dish is simple to prepare and delivers a beautifully golden finish.


Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs or breasts (boneless and skinless)
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix yogurt, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, turmeric, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, black pepper, and chili flakes until smooth.
  2. Add chicken and coat thoroughly in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) or prepare a grill or pan.
  4. Place chicken on a lined baking tray or grill.
  5. Cook for 25–30 minutes in the oven or 6–7 minutes per side on a grill until fully cooked.
  6. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro and serve.

Notes

  • Use Greek yogurt for a thicker marinade; thin with a little liquid if needed.
  • Add grated ginger for extra depth of flavor.
  • Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end for a golden finish.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently to prevent drying out.
