Description

This Texas Roadhouse-style Butter Chicken Skillet is a quick and flavorful dish featuring juicy seared chicken tossed in a rich garlic butter sauce with a touch of sweetness and brightness. It’s easy, comforting, and perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-size cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken with paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a medium bowl. Toss to coat evenly.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken in a single layer (in batches if needed) and sear for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.
  3. Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the same skillet and let it melt. Stir in minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add honey, soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce, and lemon juice. Stir and simmer for 1 minute.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for 1–2 more minutes until heated through and glossy.
  6. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Add chili flakes or cayenne for heat.
  • Stir in cooking cream at the end for a creamy version.
  • Increase lemon juice for more citrus brightness.
  • Use chicken thighs for a juicier option.
  • Pair with mashed potatoes, rice, or flatbread for a complete meal.
