This Texas Roadhouse-style Butter Chicken Skillet is a quick and flavorful dish featuring juicy seared chicken tossed in a rich garlic butter sauce with a touch of sweetness and brightness. It’s easy, comforting, and perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-size cubes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Season the chicken with paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a medium bowl. Toss to coat evenly.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken in a single layer (in batches if needed) and sear for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the same skillet and let it melt. Stir in minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add honey, soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce, and lemon juice. Stir and simmer for 1 minute.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for 1–2 more minutes until heated through and glossy.
- Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve immediately.
