Description

Tender meatballs glazed in a sweet, savory, and slightly spicy honey garlic sauce. Perfect for dinner or parties, these meatballs are easy to make and full of flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef or turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and parsley until just combined.
  3. Form into 1-inch meatballs and place on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. While meatballs are baking, combine honey, soy sauce, ketchup, minced garlic, and crushed red pepper flakes in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Stir in the cornstarch-water mixture and cook for 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Add baked meatballs to the sauce and stir to coat evenly. Let them simmer together for a few minutes.
  7. Serve hot over rice, noodles, or as an appetizer.

Notes

  • Adjust red pepper flakes to control the heat level.
  • Use ground chicken or plant-based meat for variation.
  • To save time, use store-bought frozen meatballs and toss them in the sauce.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions for extra flavor.
  • Double the sauce for extra glaze if serving with rice or noodles.
