Description

This homemade stromboli features a golden, crispy crust wrapped around a warm, cheesy filling with savory meats and Italian-inspired flavors. It’s easy to prepare and perfect for sharing at any meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced turkey
  • 1/2 cup cooked shredded chicken or beef sausage slices
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out pizza dough into a 10×14-inch rectangle on a floured surface.
  3. Spread pizza sauce evenly, leaving a 1-inch border.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  5. Add sliced turkey and cooked chicken or beef sausage evenly.
  6. Top with parmesan, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
  7. Roll dough tightly into a log from the long side.
  8. Seal seams and tuck ends underneath.
  9. Place seam-side down on baking sheet.
  10. Brush with beaten egg and drizzle with olive oil.
  11. Cut small slits on top for steam release.
  12. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  13. Let cool slightly, slice, and garnish with parsley before serving.
