Description

Sparkling Berry Lemonade is a refreshing, fruity beverage made with fresh berries, lemon juice, mint-infused syrup, and sparkling water. This fizzy drink is perfect for summer gatherings, offering a balanced mix of tart, sweet, and bubbly flavors that both kids and adults will love.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 sprigs fresh mint
  • 1/2 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1/2 cup sliced strawberries
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 46 lemons)
  • 2 to 3 cups sparkling water or club soda
  • Optional: extra berries, lemon slices, and mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat.
  2. Add mint sprigs to the syrup and let steep while cooling to room temperature. Discard mint once cooled.
  3. In a large pitcher, add blackberries, raspberries, and sliced strawberries. Gently mash with a spoon or muddler to release juices.
  4. Pour in the lemon juice and cooled mint syrup. Stir to combine. Refrigerate if not serving immediately.
  5. Just before serving, add sparkling water and stir gently to combine without deflating the bubbles.
  6. Serve over ice and garnish with fresh berries, lemon slices, or mint leaves as desired.

Notes

  • Use frozen berries (thawed) if fresh aren’t available.
  • Swap or mix in blueberries or cherries for variety.
  • Replace mint with basil for a unique flavor twist.
  • Add your favorite spirit for an adult cocktail version.
  • Strain the fruit for a smoother lemonade if preferred.
  • Use honey or agave instead of sugar for a natural sweetener.
  • Prepare the lemonade base ahead and add sparkling water when serving.
