Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
- 10 oz cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, finely grated
- 3 green onions, sliced
- Marinade:
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Stir-Fry Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Sear beef in a single layer for 1–2 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Add remaining oil to the pan. Stir-fry mushrooms for 2–3 minutes until golden and moisture is released.
- Add garlic and ginger, stir for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Return beef to the pan. Add stir-fry sauce and toss everything together.
- Cook 1–2 minutes more until sauce thickens and coats beef and mushrooms.
- Remove from heat, garnish with green onions, and serve hot with rice or noodles.
Notes
- Use shiitake mushrooms for a deeper flavor.
- Add bell peppers, snow peas, or broccoli for variety.
- Add chili flakes or chili paste for a spicy kick.
- Substitute beef with chicken if desired.
- Double the sauce if you prefer extra sauciness.
