Description

This savory sausage, gravy, and biscuit pie combines creamy seasoned sausage gravy with flaky puff pastry for a comforting, all-in-one dish. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or cozy dinners, it’s hearty, flavorful, and easy to make.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound halal ground sausage (beef or chicken, mild or spicy)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 package puff pastry (2 sheets), thawed

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage for 7–10 minutes until browned, breaking it into crumbles.
  2. Sprinkle in flour and stir for 2 minutes.
  3. Slowly stir in milk and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring, until thickened.
  4. Season with salt, pepper, sage, and red pepper flakes. Let cool slightly.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Line a 9-inch pie dish with one sheet of puff pastry.
  7. Pour in the sausage gravy and spread evenly.
  8. Top with second sheet of puff pastry, trim and crimp edges, and cut small slits for steam.
  9. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and puffed. Let rest 10 minutes before serving.

  • Gravy should be thick but spreadable before filling the pie.
  • Add shredded cheese or herbs for extra flavor.
