Description

Roasted Grape Crostini with Goat Cheese and Walnuts is a sophisticated appetizer that combines caramelized grapes, tangy goat cheese, crunchy walnuts, and a drizzle of honey on crisp toasted baguette slices. It’s an elegant yet simple dish perfect for entertaining or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups red seedless grapes (red globe or crimson)
  • 2 teaspoons avocado oil or olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or ¼ teaspoon dried thyme)
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
  • 5 ounces fresh goat cheese (chevre), softened
  • 1 French baguette, sliced into 24 thin rounds
  • ½ cup chopped toasted walnuts
  • 2 teaspoons honey (plus more for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Toss grapes with oil, salt, thyme, and pepper. Spread in dish and roast 48–55 minutes until soft and caramelized. Drizzle with balsamic and let cool slightly.
  3. Toast walnuts at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes, then chop once cooled.
  4. Slice baguette into ½-inch rounds and toast at 375°F (190°C) for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.
  5. Spread softened goat cheese on each crostini. Top with roasted grapes and their juices.
  6. Sprinkle with toasted walnuts and finish with a drizzle of honey before serving.

Notes

  • Use sunflower or pumpkin seeds for a nut-free version.
  • Swap goat cheese for ricotta, mascarpone, or cream cheese.
  • Add herbs like rosemary or basil for a fresh twist.
  • Drizzle spiced honey (with chili flakes or cinnamon) for heat.
  • Best assembled just before serving to avoid soggy bread.
