Description
Roasted Grape Crostini with Goat Cheese and Walnuts is a sophisticated appetizer that combines caramelized grapes, tangy goat cheese, crunchy walnuts, and a drizzle of honey on crisp toasted baguette slices. It’s an elegant yet simple dish perfect for entertaining or casual gatherings.
Ingredients
- 4 cups red seedless grapes (red globe or crimson)
- 2 teaspoons avocado oil or olive oil
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or ¼ teaspoon dried thyme)
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
- 5 ounces fresh goat cheese (chevre), softened
- 1 French baguette, sliced into 24 thin rounds
- ½ cup chopped toasted walnuts
- 2 teaspoons honey (plus more for drizzling)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- Toss grapes with oil, salt, thyme, and pepper. Spread in dish and roast 48–55 minutes until soft and caramelized. Drizzle with balsamic and let cool slightly.
- Toast walnuts at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes, then chop once cooled.
- Slice baguette into ½-inch rounds and toast at 375°F (190°C) for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.
- Spread softened goat cheese on each crostini. Top with roasted grapes and their juices.
- Sprinkle with toasted walnuts and finish with a drizzle of honey before serving.
Notes
- Use sunflower or pumpkin seeds for a nut-free version.
- Swap goat cheese for ricotta, mascarpone, or cream cheese.
- Add herbs like rosemary or basil for a fresh twist.
- Drizzle spiced honey (with chili flakes or cinnamon) for heat.
- Best assembled just before serving to avoid soggy bread.
