Description

Nut and cardamom saffron milk is a warm, creamy, and aromatic beverage made with whole milk, toasted nuts, saffron, and cardamom. This comforting drink is mildly sweet, caffeine-free, and perfect for cozy evenings, festive occasions, or a nourishing treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon crushed almonds
  • 1 tablespoon crushed pistachios
  • 1/8 teaspoon cardamom powder (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 810 saffron strands, soaked in 1 tablespoon warm milk

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
  2. Add crushed almonds and pistachios. Sauté for 30–60 seconds until aromatic, stirring frequently.
  3. Pour in the milk, sugar, and the soaked saffron (with soaking milk).
  4. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 4–5 minutes.
  5. Add cardamom powder (if using) and stir well.
  6. Turn off the heat and serve warm in mugs or heatproof glasses.

Notes

  • Use mixed nuts like cashews or walnuts for added variety.
  • Substitute sugar with honey or condensed milk for a richer sweetness.
  • Use low-fat or plant-based milk for a lighter version.
  • Blend nuts into powder for a smoother drink.
  • Chill and serve over ice for a summer variation.
  • Add a pinch of cinnamon or rosewater for a twist in flavor.
  • Store in fridge up to 2 days and reheat gently before serving.
