Description
Mint Oreo Truffles are rich, no-bake treats made from crushed Oreo cookies, cream cheese, and peppermint extract, coated in green-tinted white chocolate and finished with chocolate drizzle and crushed cookies. They’re festive, easy to make, and perfect for holidays or gifting.
Ingredients
- 36 Oreo cookies, cream filling removed (reserve a few for garnish)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ½ tsp peppermint extract
- 12 oz white chocolate chips or almond bark (for coating)
- Green food coloring (gel or liquid, to desired shade)
- 4 oz semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips (for drizzle)
- Extra crushed Oreos for garnish
Instructions
- Twist apart Oreos and remove cream. Set aside a few cookies for topping.
- Crush remaining cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or rolling pin.
- Mix cookie crumbs, softened cream cheese, and peppermint extract until smooth.
- Roll into 1-inch balls and place on parchment-lined tray. Chill for 20–30 minutes.
- Melt white chocolate in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between. Tint with green food coloring.
- Dip each chilled truffle into the green coating. Let excess drip off, then place back on tray.
- Drizzle melted semi-sweet chocolate over truffles and sprinkle with reserved crushed Oreos.
- Let set at room temperature or chill again until coating is firm. Serve or store.
Notes
- Use mint Oreos instead of peppermint extract for an easier variation.
- If chocolate is too thick, stir in a bit of coconut oil or shortening when melting.
- Let truffles sit at room temperature for a few minutes before dipping to prevent cracking.
- For festive flair, try red or pastel food coloring based on the occasion.
