Description

Mint Oreo Truffles are rich, no-bake treats made from crushed Oreo cookies, cream cheese, and peppermint extract, coated in green-tinted white chocolate and finished with chocolate drizzle and crushed cookies. They’re festive, easy to make, and perfect for holidays or gifting.

Ingredients

  • 36 Oreo cookies, cream filling removed (reserve a few for garnish)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ tsp peppermint extract
  • 12 oz white chocolate chips or almond bark (for coating)
  • Green food coloring (gel or liquid, to desired shade)
  • 4 oz semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips (for drizzle)
  • Extra crushed Oreos for garnish

Instructions

  1. Twist apart Oreos and remove cream. Set aside a few cookies for topping.
  2. Crush remaining cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or rolling pin.
  3. Mix cookie crumbs, softened cream cheese, and peppermint extract until smooth.
  4. Roll into 1-inch balls and place on parchment-lined tray. Chill for 20–30 minutes.
  5. Melt white chocolate in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between. Tint with green food coloring.
  6. Dip each chilled truffle into the green coating. Let excess drip off, then place back on tray.
  7. Drizzle melted semi-sweet chocolate over truffles and sprinkle with reserved crushed Oreos.
  8. Let set at room temperature or chill again until coating is firm. Serve or store.

Notes

  • Use mint Oreos instead of peppermint extract for an easier variation.
  • If chocolate is too thick, stir in a bit of coconut oil or shortening when melting.
  • Let truffles sit at room temperature for a few minutes before dipping to prevent cracking.
  • For festive flair, try red or pastel food coloring based on the occasion.
