Mini Yorkshire puddings are a delightful twist on a traditional British classic. These bite-sized treats are perfect for pairing with your favorite roast meats and vegetables, adding a light and airy texture to your meal. Easy to prepare, these mini Yorkshire puddings promise to impress your guests with every bite.

Ingredients

1 cup plain flour

1 large egg

1 pinch salt

250 ml cold milk

Instructions

  1. Place the flour in a mixing bowl and make a well in the middle. Add the egg and salt.
  2. Gradually stir in the cold milk until the mixture resembles the consistency of pancake batter.
  3. Place the batter in the fridge for at least 15 minutes to chill.
  4. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Add a teaspoon of oil to each patty hole in a muffin tray and heat the tray in the oven for 10 minutes.
  5. Once the tray is hot, quickly spoon a tablespoon of the batter into each patty hole.
  6. Bake the mini Yorkshire puddings for approximately 15 minutes, or until they have risen and turned golden brown.

Notes

  • Add fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme to the batter for a fragrant twist.
  • For a cheesy surprise, fill each patty hole with a small piece of cheese before adding the batter.
  • Use gluten-free flour to make these puddings suitable for those with gluten sensitivities.
