Description

A flaky salmon fillet topped with a crunchy maple-pecan crust, creating a perfect balance of sweet and savory. This elegant yet quick dish is ideal for weeknights or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 600 g total)
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup pecans, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 °F (190 °C) and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  2. Place salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, Dijon mustard, and olive oil.
  4. Spread the maple mixture evenly over the tops of the salmon fillets.
  5. Press chopped pecans onto the fillets, ensuring the topping adheres well.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 125–130 °F (52–54 °C).
  7. Remove from oven and let rest for 1–2 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Swap pecans with walnuts or almonds for a different flavor.
  • Honey can replace maple syrup if needed.
  • Add smoked paprika or chili flakes to the glaze for extra kick.
  • Mix in panko or breadcrumbs with the pecans for added crunch.
  • Skinless fillets can be used if preferred.
