Description

This simple yet decadent loaf pan Basque cheesecake is a creamy, slightly burnt treat that’s as easy to make as it is delicious. A must-try for anyone looking for a no-fuss dessert that impresses.

Ingredients

500g cream cheese, softened

200g granulated sugar

4 large eggs

250ml heavy cream

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F). Line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar together until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the heavy cream, flour, vanilla extract, and salt until fully combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  5. Bake for 50 minutes, or until the top is deeply browned and the center is slightly jiggly.
  6. Allow the cheesecake to cool in the pan before removing and slicing. Serve at room temperature or chilled.

Notes

  • For flavor variations, you can add lemon zest or a swirl of melted chocolate.
  • If you prefer, you can experiment with mascarpone cheese instead of cream cheese for a different flavor.
  • The cheesecake can be stored in the fridge for up to a few days. Let it come to room temperature before serving or serve chilled.
  • The cheesecake is more flavorful the day after it’s made, so chilling it overnight is recommended.
