Ingredients
- 4 white fish fillets (6 ounces each), such as cod or tilapia
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons freshly minced herbs (parsley, oregano, basil, thyme, or dill)
- 1 lemon, zested and thinly sliced
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly grease a baking dish and arrange fish fillets in a single layer.
- Season fish lightly with salt and black pepper.
- In a bowl, mix softened butter, garlic, salt, pepper, minced herbs, and lemon zest until smooth.
- Spread lemon butter evenly over each fillet.
- Top with thin lemon slices.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork (internal temperature 145°F / 63°C).
- Garnish with additional fresh herbs if desired and serve immediately.
