Description

Ingredients

  • 4 white fish fillets (6 ounces each), such as cod or tilapia
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons freshly minced herbs (parsley, oregano, basil, thyme, or dill)
  • 1 lemon, zested and thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly grease a baking dish and arrange fish fillets in a single layer.
  3. Season fish lightly with salt and black pepper.
  4. In a bowl, mix softened butter, garlic, salt, pepper, minced herbs, and lemon zest until smooth.
  5. Spread lemon butter evenly over each fillet.
  6. Top with thin lemon slices.
  7. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork (internal temperature 145°F / 63°C).
  8. Garnish with additional fresh herbs if desired and serve immediately.
