Description
This Lazy Man’s Peach Cobbler is an easy, comforting dessert made with pantry staples. Juicy peaches bake into a soft, buttery batter with a golden, lightly crisp top — all without any stirring.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick), melted
- 1 can (15 ounces) sliced peaches in syrup, undrained
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Pour the melted butter into a 9×9-inch baking dish and spread evenly across the bottom.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add the milk and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and stir until a smooth batter forms.
- Carefully pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish. Do not stir.
- Spoon the peaches along with their syrup evenly over the batter. Do not stir.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the top is golden and the edges are bubbling.
- Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Do not stir the batter and fruit — layering is key to proper cobbler texture.
- Use fresh peaches if preferred, but add sugar and water to mimic syrup.
- Reduce sugar to 3/4 cup for a less sweet version.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for added indulgence.
- This cobbler is best enjoyed warm.
