Description

Juicy spiced kofta served with a creamy tahini sauce, delivering bold Middle Eastern flavors in a simple and satisfying dish.


Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef or lamb
  • 1 small onion, finely grated
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Chopped parsley (optional)
  • Toasted pine nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground meat, onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, paprika, allspice, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Shape into small oval or log-shaped kofta.
  3. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) or heat a grill pan.
  4. Cook kofta for 15–20 minutes, turning halfway, until browned and cooked through.
  5. In a bowl, whisk tahini, water, lemon juice, garlic, and salt until smooth.
  6. Adjust consistency with more water if needed.
  7. Serve kofta drizzled with tahini sauce.
  8. Garnish with parsley and pine nuts if desired.

Notes

  • Use ground chicken for a lighter option.
  • Add fresh mint or cilantro for variation.
  • Pan-fry instead of baking if preferred.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
